About Us
We believe in the value of books and bibliography, and we'll get our hands dirty to prove it. C & P's raison d'ĂȘtre is making modern bibliographic technology and techniques to the collectors, institutions, and scholars who need it.
Who are we?
Jared Camins-Esakov, Founder
Jared has worked in and with libraries for more than a decade. For the past
five years, he has worked primarily (though not solely) in technical
services, providing bibliography and cataloging support for collections on
three continents in locales as disparate as Oxford, England and Kabul,
Afghanistan, as well as working with
ByWater Solutions, an open
source integrated library system support vendor. Highlights of his career
prior to founding C & P Bibliography Services include stints as
Librarian at the American University of Afghanistan and Assistant Librarian
at the American Numismatic Society, and a Fellowship in the Western
Manuscripts Section of the Bodleian Library at Oxford University. Jared has
a Master of Science in Library and Information Science from the Palmer
School of Long Island University. Outside of librarianship, Jared spent five
years as a computer programmer, and is currently finishing an MA in Slavic
Studies at New York University. More information about Jared is available on
his website at http://jaredcamins.com/.
